John Tolva is Chief Technology Officer for the City of Chicago. His focus there is both internal, using technology to transform the way city government operates and delivers services, and external, building a platform upon which civic innovation can thrive.
Before joining the City, John worked at IBM for over 13 years, serving most recently as the Director of Citizenship & Technology, where he developed applications in cultural, social, and environmental domains.
John lives in Chicago with two sons, a daughter and alovelywife. He maintains a personal blog at Ascent Stage.
